About I don't know what it is about this. This is one of my absolute favorite photos. Maybe it was the overwhelming beauty of Italy. It was taken in 1986, at a park in the Livorno, Italy area. I saw the girl and anticipated the shot. Her dad was with her in the park reading the newspaper on a bench. I wish I had taken his name/address. I think I like the closeness; yet separation illustrated by the bars, the gentleness, the innocence. The red jacket against the neutral colors really stands out. I recently scanned this in from a negative. Please comment/critique it.

Ali - thanks for comment and for noticing the unique expressions. I've never really noticed expressions in an animal but I really think it's in this one.

Nessa - I hadn't thought of the Christmas symbolism between the little girl in red and the reindeer. You're right. Kind of like one of Santa's little elves going out to see the reindeer. Thanks, Jeff
