About A manual stich out of five 24mm shots. The super wideangle brought the wellknown distortion to the frames, wich I tried to warp manually - with limited success as you can see. But this time the individual exposure corrections resulted in an almost perfectly uniform lighting among all the takes. This shows that such corrections *are* possible at shooting time and do not have to be carried out later on with PS or any other software, which unavoidably alters the atmosphere of the photo. Now it remains to find out how to avoid distortions at take time. Though a TS lens would help to achieve that, there must be also other ways. Any ideas?

Andre, maybe funny but in the next months I'll be posting some "distorted" ones, that really remind me of... heavy staccato riffs. Hard to describe but you'll see what I mean then.

Hi Nick,
The distortion with a guitar is a good analogy! I don't think there is anything wrong with using distorion in an image, as long as there is a reason for it! This shot works!

Many thanks for your nice comment, Jan!

And despite my "Christmas responsiveness" which lies at about 0 just like with any other religious festivity, I thank you very much for your season's wishes and wish you the happiest holidays ever.

Oh well, atheists and their twisted views, you see! ;-)

All the best,

Nick

Thanks a lot, Andre!

Actually I am rather ambivalent about such distortion since on the one hand I think about geometry but on the other hand I think also about the "dream like quality" of the image.

Oh well, let's allow a bit of optical distortion, just like the acoustic distortion of an electric guitar, entering the domain of... eletric photography! ;-)

Best wishes,

Nick

Excellent pano shot, Nick. Good detail and interesting scene. I have no technical ideas to offer to your question. Instead I offer the greetings of the season and wish you a joyous holiday.

Hi Nick,
A very nice presentation using the panorama format. You did a good job of making the image appear seamless with very little post processing. Very cohesive! I wouldn't be concerned with any distorion in an image like this. You might as well even take advantage of the distortion to create a unique dream like image.
