Linda - Thanks so much for commenting. The Hasselblad is a great camera but a pain in the a** with respect to loading and film transport. The medium format results can render wonderful pictures with practice and patience.
My son-in-law, Joel Aron, has posted a number of pictures here on USEFILM that he has taken with the H.
--Warmest regards, Jan

Fabrice -- Thanks so much for your kind comments. Although the shutter speed was slow I propped my arms on a table and used a stabilizer lens. I liked the effect that resulted.

Interesting and creative image Jan, I've learned something new about the Hasselblad. Nice contrast between the blur and the focus..definitely an image that tells a story...well done...:) Linda

Great work with the perfect management of the exposure time. The effect is stunning with the contrast between the body with no movement and the hands moving!.
Nicely done Jan!
Cheers

Lubomir -- Thanks! Although the shutter speed was slow, 1/6 second, the lens employs a stabilizer and my elbows were on the table for support. Thus the frozen body with hand movement.

Paul - just to be technically correct, I believe Joel was "advancing" the film to the end of the roll to remove it. Since 120 film is not "rewound" I thought I would clarify before someone posts to this thread. Both you and I know what we meant but someone else may not.
:) :)

Leo - Thanks, it is authentic if nothing else!!
I'll check with Joel; there are at least two possible reasons why he has not posted lately. One of which is being in the final throws of wrapping up work on a new movie.

Thanks for your comments, Joe. I am glad I made the comment as to what Joel was holding in hindsight based on your comment. I promise this is the last picture I will post of Joel loading his camera (there are three!).

That is creative but I'm glad you told me there was a Hasselblad there. :) It's cool how your image has limited colours and how the purple from the film wrapper is seen in the moving hands. Well done Jan.
All the best.

Mel -- Thanks for commenting and I have milked this Hasselblad loading about as far as I can! :)
Joel never takes the easy way; he stands in the middle of traffic and no doubt would stand on his head or hang from a tree limb to get the right picture. He works on special effects in the movie industry and to say the least he is a perfectionist. In spite of that, I love him!! :)
Now I am toddling back to my Lensbaby to experiment some more. I only managed to get two LB photos posted and today was supposed to be outdoor shooting with LB. The weather is so windy and cold I decided to do inside work. Just finished making a picture frame for my wife's latest needlework.

Your series on Joel and his Hasselblad is helping me to understand how committed some people have to be, to want to use such difficult to load cameras!

Of course, the photos from the "Blad" are worth it, so I'm pleased that Joel takes the effort, and pleased that you have allowed us to take a peek into that process.

Thanks for sharing Jan......Mel
