About Stan's photo abstract 'Mysterious Light' reminded me of Fritz Lang's 1924 film 'Metropolis', I have done this little collaboration and titled it after one of the songs on the rock soundtrack of the 1984 remake of the film. Here are some of the lyrics:

HERE SHE COMES

"She begins to steal the light
Confusion throws another mystery
It's out of focus with the eyes
So now you wonder is this just a dream?

Hmmmmmmmmm

Now here she comes, here she comes
She's gonna have you at her beck and call
So why refuse? Yeah why contend?
When all resistance is impossible
Oh, Here she comes, here she comes
This lady's serious, make no mistake
Face to face and eye to eye
She'll cast a spell that you may never break
Oh, Here she comes, here she comes
OoOoOoO"

Oh, Habib, what a delightful story! Gave me some good chuckles.:) I also adore the redone version of Metropolis with the rock score.

You can certainly see the influence of the film in many newer sci-fi films, and even some that are not sci-fi.

Luckily, I recorded it when shown on PBS many years ago, as it is quite expensive to buy now. I even bought the soundtrack.

I like this wild little photo you've attached here in the comments, too.:) Thank you, Habib!:)

this is amazing.

i just want to start off by saying Metropolis is my favorite movie of all time! i remember the first time i watched it was by accident, i was only 6 and i was at the video library, the video cover caught my eye, i did not realize i was taking home a movie that was around 60 years old!

i had to enjoy my selection or else i would have got a backside whooping by my mother!

it was the Giorgio Moroder version you speak that i took home(i was/am a fan of electronica/pop especially in soundtracks or tv themes!), so i sat down to watch the cut down version of the movie for the first time.

i absolutely loved it, the story was perfect, and the music was fantastic to boot.

i do believe i was probably the youngest person i know of to have actually sat down to watch that movie & understand the true meaning at the age of 6.

okay, back to this photo, this is the reason why it had caught my eye scrolling thru your portfolio.

good work!

see-ya.

Thank you so very much, dear Doyle!:)

Have you seen the film? That is why her eyes look like that. Here is a link to the album cover so you can get the 'feeling': http://www.amazon.com/Metropolis-1984-Re-release-1924-Film/dp/B00000260Q

Nicely done Shirley . . . the eyes (to me) seem distracting - almost metal . . . but overall . . . a great job to you both and Stan's BG is a great choice here too . . . :)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

An imagination full preparation, whereby the eyes somewhat remarkably represent themselves. Sincerely Gerhard

That was the first thing I thought when I saw it. Dead on metropolis feel to it. The soulless eyes are perfect.

Shirley,

I can't decide if it's Art-Deco or Disco. A fine image either way!

Cheers,

The spell has touched me ! The look in her eyes is... mesmerizing (is that enough ?). In great sync with the song : you could make it to the album cover.
