John - Thanks. I really like the results I can get with camera motion and rope lights. Shooting rope lights luxagraphically is really the way to go.

That could be sparks from a worker that works with metals and collage them, but all these gives dirextions, some paralers and some corves, nice abstract. The magic here is that....no PS work, YEA, and that needs guts, very cool. Best regards.

Yes, chaotic geometry that still is able to produce perceivable patterns, which is stunning for itself.
As about the image, again one that I would take to decorate the walls of some modern night café - when lights and reality seem to be one and the same.
Best wishes,
Nick

Thank you for this explanation, James and also for the links that I´ll have a look at now. I´m so sorry that I haven´t replied earlier, but I´ve been out of town and quite busy after coming home. It´s good with some inspiration for new shots! Oh I explained it badly with my Danish-English way*LOL* I meant that there are games for children where they look at a pattern on a piece of paper and have to follow the right line in order to get to the treasure in the middle:-) Take care

Jon - Well, I wouldn't say that was luxagraphical in technique (though the product may have much in common). Since I am working to develop techniques to evoke specific looks and feels (and hence control that random element) a luxagraphic technique would want to have the reproducibility vital in any photographic technique.
Camera toss is just what it sounds like: you push the button and toss your camera up in the air. Presumably works best in cameras with the longest shutter delays. Presumably is best done with cameras which are expendable.
This shot (Brambled) was created by passing the lens across the rope-lights several times in different directions and interposing my fingers between them as the passes were made.

Luxographia... hmmm... interesting concept. I sometimes walk down crowded streets holding my camera at waist levela and clicking the shutter at more-or-less random intervals. Does that count? :-] ... what is "camera toss"?

Annemette - Thanks. Luxagraphia is a term I have been using to descibe the broad techniques I have been evolving for creating these sorts of shots. You can read about it here:
http://www.usefilm.com/photographer.asp?ID=107677&PF=25833
I am happy to answer any questions you may have. I have encouraged others to explore these techniques and to join my movement. Feel free to try it for yourself.
This particular shot is a camera motion enduced view of one strand of rope-lights located along a stair well inside the bar (leading up to the balcony). For a more clear picture of rope lights try this shot:

I don't understand what you mean by putting "a small thing in there somewhere...". Could you explain that?
Nectar is a bar in Fremont where they often have live music.

Luxagraphia? I must look that word up. Anyway great lines. Maybe you should put a small thing in there somewhere and let us try to locate it using the right way/rope/line hehe Nectar? Best wishes Annemette
