Great model and a good shot. I like her
"at ease" pose as it helps to view Your shot from top to bottom. Also the colors, cool blues of her clothing and warm skin tones complete each other. Good work!

Thanks, Avi. All you really need is no seam paper and a broad light source -- here it was north-west window light in the screened-porch.
The model has to be 4-5 feet from the background, so you get a soft, shaded shadow.

Thanks, Max, for your generous comment. The background is no seampaper with daylight only, no reflector. She is my dear niece who is getting married in October, putting her film career on hold for the moment.
I agree that she has great attitude and focus. Also some cleverness in putting fashions together.

Thanks, Jan. This is my favorite light and it is not easy to reproduce. I have come close with a large diffused bank, but I shoot available "window" light whenever I can.
I appreciate your gracious comments here and for my ferry boat, "going home". I don't know if you ever got my comment which is listed below the ferry photo, but not in the list of comments from me to you.

Thanks, Doyle for you astute observations. I admit, we are guilty, and the fashion police will certainly be after us. We used a belt as a design element and it has absolutely no practical function.
I can't say for sure but the model may have used belt loops in the back. But I am crazy about the way the curve echoes the ruffle on the blouse.
I think the thumb caught a little bit more of the light and could have been toned in, but it did not really bother me. If I print it I will certainly make adjustments.

Leora -- She is beautiful and you show her and the improvised outfit well. Doyle's observation of the thumb made me look twice and I see what he means. She must have very long fingers. I very much like the way you used the light for the photo.

Nicely done Leora. Uhhhh . . . the belt doesn't seem to go through the loops so doesn't hold the pants up. Hmmmmm . . . Intriguing. I'm not sure what work you did on this but her left hand thumb seems distracting. Interesting work!
