About These are old slides and i did not have a scanner so i projected them on to a screen and reshot them with my D80. This is why they are so fuzzy and a bit old style looking.
This is a old photo from 1981 of a climbing friend (Saul) that I climbed several "Big Walls" with in Yosemite California. He was a great friend to be hanging around with for several days in a physically tense environment (due to the exposure of sometimes of up to 6 days worth on vertical rock faces). As i look back on some of these days i ponder what it was that inspired seeking such a extreme environment to exist in if but for only a few days even?
I like the effect of this method of conversion, the way it creates less clarity and yet maintains the essence of the point of the photo....maybe even enhances it. You be the judge.

Hi Tim, I saw your bio shot and that led me to this one. Got a nosebleed just looking at these shots! You guys were nuts for sure, lol.

I used to have a job that required me on occasion to go over the edge of small cliffs...with a rock drill first then explosives...

Never got over my fear of heights though. Took about three days straight each time to gain any trust in the rope. Gave that up! :)

The method of reproduction works fine here. Perhaps it gives a sense of age to the photograph.

The technique certainly works well to bring us these great shots, Tim! Not often you get this perspective. Well done!
Dave.
