Thanks, Susie. This fellow is a throw back to the 50's and 60's in lifestyle and in other ways. It is a fitting look for him. :) :)
--Regards, Jan

Nessa -- I am reminded of the same thing; it was not the outcome I expected when I was creating the picture but I was pleased with that similarity after I finished.

Great intensity in the eye. Like the tone and expression. Very interesting and adventurous crop too, and it goes well with the mood.

Srna -- Thanks so much for your comment. This fellow that I photographed is train engineer and has a keen eye. I decided I would take a picture of the "eye" he keeps focused on the track to keep the train running safely.

Thanks for your comments, Doyle. And Onie did nail it. I totally agree with her and your assessment. It is uncanny in the look and feel of the news wire photos of that era.

Amazing, Onie. I had the same reaction after I created the picture. Thanks so much for your generous comments! Another thing that struck me as "funny" is your reference to the McCarthy era and the fact that you make such a reference and likely were not living in the US at the time. Shows how infamous the headlines were and still can be reflecting on the strange ways of the US.
--Warm regards, Jan

~~GRIN~~ Jan... Love it... Reason being it looks like a crop from a long shot, an old news sheet/magazine (fav's of mine) headliner, ie the *McCarthy* era...

Maybe it's the duotone, plus the crop makes the eye search for the rest of the face, fill in the gaps so to speak... Love the hair detail, moustache, facial and eyebrow... ~~GRIN~~ In this, they look as strong as wire and metal filings... and did well not to get a flash bounce with the spectacles... :)

Whatever, it works for me Sir...:)))

Excellent Jan...:)

Onie...
