Must admit that is a peeve of mine... Didn't think anyone had the right to deprive those downstream of water Rog... BUT, the big cotton mob did it to the Darling with the money and recieved the blessing of QLD Gov...

Most are doing the same down here, digging them deeper while dry... Makes sense to me... Even if they never fill, at least the storage space is there just in case...

As for the trees, when you plant them yourself and you watch them grow, it's hard to see them fail... At least the natives have a bit of an edge there...

Well hopefully the weather is starting to swing around now according to the Weather guys, but then it has to rain where needed doesn't it to make a difference...

yeah Onie thats it the old Thibenzol drum with the foot valve attached.. yeah and thats the place the whole disaster .. the trees are still hanging in there I planted avey one the place was like a billiard table when we built out here in 1980.. but we chose lots of different species obviously native were our first preference and this year we have lost about half a dozen exotics so yeah it has been worthwhile.. the dam may never fill again as Drayton Coal built a huge dam at the edge of their lease which took all the upstream water from us.. so yeah bit of a bugger but I actually had the dam dug out whilst it is MT just in case

Looks a lovely oasis Rog, but so very sad... Is that the foot valve sitting there?...

Lots of beautiful trees around you also... Hopefully they'll hang in there...
