while the white background looks okay, I think I'd prefer it either to be black, as cliche as that may be (there's probably a reason it's so popular, since the colors of florals stand out so well against the black), or a natural background, if the dof is shallow enough so most of the background is blurred.

It is certainly different Pete . Made me look anyway . It is difficult to get a good image with a natural background as Azaleas are so busy . Can't say whether I would like a black background . Perhaps a graduated grey ?

I love black background more, but just my taste......I think its better to work with shadow for the white background, best regards, and thank you very much !!

I think the white background works well. Pops the flower out. Sharp focus, nice detail and DOF. Lighting seems a bit flat though. Mark
