Beautiful capture! The lighting in this shot plays from so many different angles and works wonderfully. I wonder how much time and patience goes into a capture like this, can't just be luck, very nicely done.

I have recently started doing more bird photograpy and it is quite a challenge. Patience pays off. I like the detail on the open wings and the plumage display on the Egret's head. I wonder if post processing would allow you to soften the branches and make those less obtrusive in the composition...having learned in these past few months that it is quite an endeavor to get images like this, the only other thing I can say to you is keep shooting.
