Writing from the jail now, Andre! They caught me and I have to count teddy bears for the rest of my life! ;-)

Nick,
I hope you are not going to throw them in Lake Lucerne, or Lake Geneva. You might get arrested for Teddy Bear pollution :)

Hi Kes,
Good to see you back again. I haven't been around that much lately either. Mostly work, but some holidays too. Looking forward to the mutilated Barbies ;)

Hi Nick,
Thanks again. I'm sure you will be able to find something stange and weird to inspire you sooner or later :)

Excellent forensic photography. I've yet to post my Barbie doll photos - oops! - cat's out of the bag now! No, wait, you clubbed the cat with your tennis mallet. Nevermind.

I'm going about this all backwards, as typical. I'll look at the other two now.:)

I find even the original very interesting in its way, Andre, pressumably because of the suggestive look of the strong red in all that dirty colors. (Blood-Crime-Innocence-Death-etc). But still I find your work with the effects stronger in its rather subtle character.

Of course it has been a great opportunity and I am glad that you didn't just passed it by. Unfortunately they don't throw any teddies in lakes any more around here. I tell you, I did search very carefully! ;-)

Best wishes,

Nick

P.S.: Let me see if i can buy one teddie! ;-)

Thanks Ray,
There is always something very dramatic about a left behind toy. Especially when it is of the cute and cuddly variety put outside of it's intended element. A Teddy Bear sitting on a child's pillow is one thing. But the same Bear unceremoniously tossed in the muddy shoreline tell quite another story.

Hi Nick,
I have to tell you that these images were not posed or set-up by me. I did of course apply the effects (for better or worse ?) There were two large teddy bears thrown in the water down by the lake where my wife and I go for walks. I have no idea why they were thrown in the water. But you know there is no way I could pass up the photo opportunity :) I will attach an original colour image of this one so you can see more cleary what I originally saw.

Methinks this is not the first young Teddy discovered in dire straights when you have been prowling about with your trusty camera Andre ........a wonderful trio of shots my friend. A very enterprising idea that sits well with the project.....Well done......Cheers......Ray

Dark, lacking clear separation of light and shadow - and this is elementary for this image!!! - and quite silent in its strong expression. And the questin is: Expression of what? All interoretations I was able to think of are quite pessimistic, sad, and also strong! There lies in dirt one representative of what we usually concieve as... innocent, pure and sympathetic. I have to take the parallels to the whole punk movement, Andre, that dared through the holy cow into the dustbin...

A very strong image, but also one that needs more than one views!

Come back and visit any time. If you liked these images, you might like some others in my "Darker Side" portfolio.

Hi Paul,
Yeah, you don't know if you should laugh or cry :)

I didn't pose these teddy bears for any of the images BTW. I have no idea why they were thrown in the water, or who did it. But I couldn't resist doing something with them. :)
