About Another in a series of shots taken of some jewelry a sister is making.

Similar lighting as the others...there was probably only one light used here. This piece is on a glass with the bottom painted black.

Kes, I think it is one of the best. I love the Nikon digital I have, too, but I hate the high ISO noise. This is frame-worthy even with the noise.

thanks Luke! Yes, the ISO was set by accident to high. :( However, I did have a tripod in use here. :)

beautiful, except I would dial down ISO and tripod mount this for amazing clarity w/o noise.

The creepy VR 18-200 was a smashing success for this one! Love the lighting and the way you draw the detail out.

...have found that this lens is creepy...and you have to use manual focus and turn off VR and use self timer to get some detail...sure wish I had a better tripod too.

someday.

Thanks again, Andre. This was the most difficult shot of the three. Tipping the mask down to get the reflection on the glass resulted in an unwanted reflection of black on the nose...I couldn't figure out how to get rid of all of it so this is a compromise.

Wow, movies. Haven't watched one in over a year now, it seems. Haven't been to a theater in...14 years I've been married? lol

Thanks Txules! Nikon's D80 seems to have pretty good in camera high ISO noise reduction...actually a setting for it there. Not sure why the 1600 myself..lol...

Hi Kes,
This one is my favourite of the threee so far. I like that mirror image reflection. Reminds me of that kinky Kubrick movie Eyes Wide Shut, with Kidman and Cruise.
