About Well, that tower on the roof shouldn't be cut, I know. But when the bus is about to start and stands right of the right place you don't have much time to walk back further away from the scene.

I'd be glad to read any comments about this one.

Oh,sorry Mahassa, I seem to adopt the usual abbreaviated terminology too strongly! :-D Well, a T/S is a Tilt/Shift, a lens that can be tilt or shifted in its orientation relative to the film or CCD plane. This way the lens is no more parallel to that plane and thus we don't need to turn the camera (and so the film or CCD plane too) up or downwards, avoiding this way to turn vertical lines to non-vertical or even almost leading lines, especially when working with wide angles. Sometimes of course one might want to have that distortion, but sometimes also not.

For more info, take a look at: http://photo.net/equipment/canon/tilt-shift

or

Best wishes,

Nick

what do you mean by T/S?

Nick Karagiaouroglou Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:127263} 7/25/2007
Yes, this is the effect of the wide angle when one doesn't have a T/S, Mahassa! Like me for example. So the vertical lines get converted to almost leading lines if the camera isn't held totally horizontically.

Thanks a lot for the nice comment!

excellent light and shadow nick,
and the angle makes me feel the building is
falling down which seems very interesting

Many many thanks for the nice comment Mohamen, and come on now! No problem because of my name, really!

We only have one mind, and we must keep in mind all those names and labels for calling things. The other day I called Alix "Dave", then I corrected that, but still, who knows how often we will mean this and we will name that. No problem, really!

After all, even if I called you Vladimir, you would be still the same old good Mohamed. ;-)

Ciao Vladimir, oops, I meant Mohamed! ;-)

Many thanks for the nice comment, Vandi! Hopefully the image itself is also as "great" as the atmosphere it tries to convey.

Best wishes,

Like you have already said, it would have been good to have the tower in whole. Nevertheless, its a very nice image which shows the architecture of these nice buildings.
Regards, Ahmed
