I thought that this may have been taken in Europe - I wasn't even close! But this photo does ahve an 'old world' look/feel to it. Carol: My Hoya IR is a IR72. My camera as a really good IR blocker, and so is not the best choice for IR work, but I will still do it cus it will be fun. My digi doesnt have b&w mode, I have to shoot in colour, then switch it to b&w in ps or whatever. This may be part of your problem. Take your camera, place a tv remote in front of it, and press some buttons on the remote, if on your camera screen you see white lights, then you can use it with a IR filter...a cheap/fast test. My digi doesnt seem to have a problem with auto focus. I took a shot today at work (airport) of a float plane with the IR filter, and it focussed properly - 'P' mode, and 1 second shutter speed as chosen by the camera. I like the colours and mood you have captured. I would, however suggest that the image would benefit from a slight crop of the right-hand side, or rotating the image 180 degrees. IMHO
