Thank you Paul. I did shoot in RAW, but I use the old PS 7 program, which unfortunately doesn't support RAW. but I'll try a variation of your suggestion, using my RAW converter and then combining both exposures in P.S. If it works I'll post the result. Cheers.

Take one just exposing for the facial features then PS it into the shot, worked for me ;)

I like your composition here, Ann, and without the PP as Paul suggests, it's pretty hard to get a balance with the extremes of lighting you have here.

This is a very interesting shot if not well composed. There is not focal point that immediately draws the attention of the viewer. If the photo was slightly less exposed, it would make the face stand out more, making it the focal point.

This might be recoverable...if...you shot this in RAW instead of JPEG. In the Photoshop RAW panel, you can crank the exposure down 2 or 3 stops, and open it as RAW. Open a 2nd RAW normally exposed, and place them on top of each other. Then erase the over-exposed lights on the top layer, revealing the properly exposed lights in the layer beneath.

I don't know about suggestions to fix it, I love the way it is. Your right, it's a tick on the overexposed side, but, I think it sets the scene better. Anyway, hope you find the suggestion you need. Dave
