of all the contries we visited Slovenia was the only place with any pride.. the rest Greece Macedonia Montenegro Albania Croatia Italy the greek Island and Dubai.. all suffered the same fate in varying degrees.

Know what you mean, Roger. How do you explain this behaviour? It reminds me of an occasion in Morocco years ago, windsurfing on the lake above Rabat. I got chatting to a local guy who'd been working in Italy, who suddenly flung his empty beer bottle into the lake saying "people don't do this in Italy". While not believing him, I tried to explain as gently as I could why didn't (if in fact they didn't). Before pointing out how his now broken bottle would affect my feet. (Though being glass rather than plastic, at least it would return to where it came from faster...)
