here you go again with your boring lecture, go get a life!YOu don't even care about what the other people do for a living. And remember, imagination is the first motive for a man to go to the moon, but PLEASE DON"T ANSWER TO THIS MESSAGE!IT IS GETTING BORING.

And also don't forget that without science you wouldn't be able to hold that camera.
My work for several banks was indeed boring and so I had to stop. As about scientific matters, go read a bit more and then we talk.
Cheers,
Nick

oh yes, I FORGOT you are a scientist and you are very proud of it, because you remind this to us every time we see your portfolio.Didn't you work in a bank? That must have been very very tiring and BORING for you. What are you doing at the moment , besides shooting Nature and trying to convince us about scientific matters?

Yes, of course! Much like any biologist, physicist, or even mathematician that studies the world because of such limited stupid romantifications?
Go for some more depth at last, Olga Melissa!

come on, Nick, you are trying to convince me that you look at the rose as if it were ...what?Only romantic people want to study a flower and you know sth?It is a compliment not a curse, I wish someone would say that I am romantic too.bla bla bla....

I also think that a crop isn't as good as cloning that *&%£-leaf, Olga Melissa! The cloning gave a better result for me too, than the cropping did.
As about "romantic", and so on. First of all, it is really funny to see how people react when just some study of a flower is presented. They assume all and everything about you without even knowing you. Isn't that a joke?
Just make a study on a flower and soon you are "romantic", or what the hell is going on here?
Cheers,
Nick

don't crop it !Don't crop it of course!I would have added some noise reduction here, but I know this is the way you like it to be.So, all in all, a very romantic composition, you must be romantic even though you don't want to be called as such. Don't shout at me, I didn't say VERY romantic, just ROMANTIC.:)

Thanks a lot for the nice comment and generous rating, Andras! I like it very much too because of its softness, but I think that the leaf at the bottom was a bit too much.
As about "everybody can take crispy pictures of a rose".. well, don't be so sure! ;-)
Cheers,
Nick

Hey Nick! What a nice picture. You know, everybody can take crispy pictures of a rose, but it is uniqe, the softness does it good. Well done, I like it! 7

Any comment must be taken seriously, Pembe, if it is not only "Wow, great picture!" and the like. Thanks once again for elaborating on your thoughts. The leaf is indeed not really OK as it stands there. In order to keep the proportions intact it has to be cloned off.
But to clone it off... with what? I tried this and that, and the attachment is the best I can come up with, since my PS-skills are only rudimentary. I just tried as good as I could to extend the green parts in a way that there is no sudden cut.
So, in a reverse engineering sence, it means that I should have turned that leave in such a way that it doesn't appear anymore in the frame. It would have been really easy to do that, indeed!
Thanks a lot and all the best!

Dear Nick, thanks for taking my suggestion seriously... I love this cropped one too, it has more integrity, you're right.. actually as I told in my previous comment, i like the original especially in its (vertical) framing -but something in it is preventing me to focus directly on the rose and I thought that it must be the leaf in pink:)..
nice RED rose anyway -you have beautiful flower pictures in your portfolio.. congr...
cheers

Thank you very much, for the nice comment and even more fpr the suggestion, Pembe! Well, let me see. i cropped the part with the leave off and indeed it wins more integrity since there is nothing else than the rose that attracts attention.
Perhaps also cloning it off could result in a similarly higher integrity.
Many many thanks and all the best,
Nick

Yes, they stand both at a very similar pose, Gustavo! But I find yours way more simplicistic - and also with a more visible intention.
Thanks a lot for the link and the comment,

I think it os way soft, Dave, but this time it was what i was attempting to get. Some flowers over a rather flat background do seem very nice to me if they are really very soft on the image.
Thanks a lot again!

it is really 'red' and nice.. i think the only thing which could be a bit 'too much' in the picture is the pink leaf at the bottom of the frame maybe!? (but not sure anyway, it could be only my vision, my taste??) still i like it a lot:) cheers
