As they say it's the eye behind the camera not the equipment in front of it that is most important. Sometimes the technical complexity of a camera can get in the way of getting the shot in the first place. But part of the joy of being a photography buff is that you are always learning new things.
You are too modest in reguards to your own work. I look forward to the next time I post something that catches your eye.
Happy holidays again,
Bob

While taking a quick look through some new postings, this one caught my eye as one does not often see a B&W Christmas picture and the fountain like lighting looked neat. I'm sure it does look great in 8 x 10. Every once in a while I wonder if I should be aiming towards a DSLR. There are advantages. However, some friends here with DSLR's also have another more portable camera. So, that is definately a consideration. For now, I figure I am best to get to know all the features on my new camera. There is a whole lot more for me to figure how to use it most effectively. It's nice to hear that you appreciate my visits. You are too kind in your comments about my work. I have enjoyed learning new things. However, every time I learn something new, I also see how much I don't know. But, that's okay. It is a hobby I enjoy made more enjoyable by supportive friends like you. Have a wonderful Christmas. MAry

Mary, thanks again for stopping by and leaving a comment. I was surprised by your message on this one so soon after your last set you commented on.
This shot was just a small portion of a larger shot as I was doing Christmas shots at The Grove. Handheld from a P&S camera, so it's a little off focus but the effects got me right away. I had to print this one and it is great at 8x10.
Again, thank you for taking the time to really look over my work. All my latest florals are from my own garden and taken with my new Canon EOS 40D. Boy that camera really does some great macros. It's not very portable so I still use the P&S quite a bit. I don't know what I would do if you ever stopped commenting on my work. You really bring me such joy when I see you managed to stop again.
What can I say about your own portfolio that hasn't already been said so many times, and so much better that I ever could. They all are so wonderful, like fine poetry. Beauty condensed down to a few precious shots you allow us to see.
Take care.
Happy holidays.
Bob

Now, this is different, a Christmas picture in B&W. The B&W does make the lights sparkle. the explosion of light n all directions does bring me to every pert of the image. I like how the boy seems to be toasting the celebration. MAry
