Hi Paul and please excuse the late answer! I was trying to reply but the server was giving me an error message until today. What happened again?
Thanks a lot for the info on the image. Well, yes, I consider also selection to be one of the most overlooked never ending stories in PS, in the sense that I also think that I will never be really able to select exactly what my eye pre-selected. I keep on learning and still I am lightyears behind a reasonable selection of what I want. Perhaps we tell Adobe to enhance the lasso with some kind of... mind reading? ;-)
I am especially glad for the expected new black dresses. It will be the good start of the new year to me ;-) So hurry up! I'll have to show the images my girlfriend too, and then we go buy something similar for her from Soho - hot!!! >8-D
Cheers and have a nice day!
Nick

Thanks, Nick, for your feedback and your perception. Your prize for assisting is more of this project! :)
As for the edging, it is not due to sharpening, but due to my poor selection techniques. Her background wasn't nearly that bright or clean, which is why the edges don't match.
I'll post some new black dresses just for you Nick!

More of this project, Paul, if I may ask for that! A bit too much sharpness enhancement brought those pixelations at the contours of the model, but still the coloring/exposure is just about perfect to me! The problem here is the very sudden, almost unnatural cut of regions like for example the hair against the background - how could that be avoided?
Oh, and please take some serious guitar for a rocker's attitude ;-) The one used here is for the kids or for John Denver! ;-) Sorry, Paul, I am too strongly into Heavy Metal, it seems :-D
Cheers,
Nick

Nice shot Paul, good attitude from the model, nice lighting...... not to be a stick up the back side but on the subject of the guitar that there is a Danelectro the model is holding and even though they are not very expensive they CAN have a great sound. Probably the most famous example is Jimmy Page's use of his Black Danelectro '59 on the LED ZEPPELIN classic "In My Time Of Dying" off of PHYSICAL GRAFFITI and the double Live Zeppelin DVD box set. A very cool little guitar (the different guitar models - like the one in the shot - all having a very interesting retro look - good prop for fashion photography under the right circumstances IMHO) and a great sound when you plug it into a MARSHALL amp and crank it up to 11 - lol.... of course we all need our Fenders and Gibsons if one is a guitar player (or part time like me) but the Danelectro deserves special mention, I love the one I have - the '59, now I just NEED to play half as good as Jimmy....... (I do think this one works well in the shot BTW)... OK, pointless guitar lesson is over, carry on......
