The start of a new short series in which I might be also rather "unshameful" again ;-) as I just use the same techniques for making "spooky images" in order to show that there is nothing more to it than what one sees. It's only material objects under some special light and no sense of the supernatural, which seems to be a hidden love of many too many here :-D
This one is about their beloved "ghosts and spirits" that they see everywhere. When the sun shines it is a ghost, and when it doesn't it is also a ghost. And I see only natural phenomena with no intention whatsoever to appear "ghosty"!

Oh yes, Andre, I know about the dangerous two legged animals. How they managed to almost blow this planet to pieces.. Anyway, we hope that the planet will prove stronger.
I could imagine very well somebody from another world falling in love with baseball, though. Why not? It's a nice sport that also offers much blops! ;-) Unfortunately I didn't watch that episode - do you remember which period it was perhaps?
On a sidenote again, should we ever get some contact to other guys from somewhere else, I'm pretty sure they'd tell us about their kind of baseball, mundane job, and nice pubs where you can drink a beer with your pals.

That subject of aliens coming to earth and having to blend into our society was covered by X-Files in a semi comedy episode I believe. If I'm not mistaken, the alien fell in love with Baseball. He also held down a mundane job. But when it came time to go back to the mothership, he wanted to stay with the humans ") Something like that I think. Andre
Yes, this must be a reason for "seeing ghosts" and the like in such places, Andre! Again I didn't think of that, but the very natural (and also necessary) fear to be lost somewhere in the woods and never get back to some more secure place must play a very big role for formation of such fantasies in our minds!
Actually these woods are nowadays completely empty of anything that could prove dangerous around here, since the two legged animals have successfully removed all other occupants ;-) In Switzerland you really must try very very hard in order to get lost since the next village is almost always some kilometers away ;-)
But still we see many too many images of this kind that are based on this fear that you referred to. So, as I am extremely against all superstition I had to post something similar as seen without any filtering mind-process that transforms branches to arms with claws and the like ;-) (In other words especially dedicated to some wannabe witches, Harry Potters, and Lords of Rings here ;-))
But inspiring it is indeed! One should only never take tales of beings with horns and hooves for reality.
As about the X-Files, and only as a sidenote here, the series was really very well done as the plot was dense and almost free of self-contradictions. For me it was as interesting as Asimov's writings. But they did one single terrible mistake! Nobody asked some extraterrestrial guy what kind of coffee he drinks in the ultimate try to somehow suppress being tired because it is 5:30 in the morning, and he must go to his job, and he had a terrible argueing with his wife last night - now *this* would be really scary! ;-)
In other words, perhaps they just try to get along somehow, with much the same problems like the daily run, the kids, the house, and the money still available at the end of the month, or even the month still available at the end of the money! ;-) Universal things that connect us much more than black oils and bacteriological bees ;-)
An interesting series Nick. For centuries writers and image makers have taken advantage of our natural fear of being lost in the woods. Perhaps this is why many of us get carried away with our imagination. :) I've started watching the old X-Files tv series all over again to help get my imagination fired up again. :) "The truth is out there" Andre

Perhaps the built-in pattern recognition is a blessing and a curse at the same time. We can turn really to champions when it comes to such associative thinking/perceiving of things that aren't there at all.
It's also interesting since the first thing we must recognize when we are born is faces. From then on, our brains are wired to 'see' faces (Elvis, Jesus, Virgin Mary...blah blah) where none exist - clouds, trees, rocks and (in South Texas) faces of the divine on flour tortillas.
