About I used to be the society photographer for this small weekly newspaper in florida. They would send me to these parties where I would take photos and help myself to drinks and appetizers. This was 1977 and I always used to smoke pot before assignments which made me really feel like an outsider and made these events even stranger to me then they already would have been. To me, the feeling of alienation is pretty apparent in these images.

OK, this is giving me the chills... EeeeeK! It is so damn perfect in a Night of the Living Dead/Stepford Wives feeling... Wait, even better: Reefer Madness!!!! Too bad you partake no longer of our State Crop, contributing to our depressed Island economy... I can't even fathom the effect it might have if you did... No, I take that back - it would probably make no difference whatsoever, as your divine madness is genuine... Now, where did that bong go?.....;-))

I really LOVE your images from the 70ies... Did you punch them in their faces afterwards?

it didn't make me feel bad, Ana. It made me feel like I was seeing these people in the same way that I would see aliens from another planet. That was a long time ago. I don't need any drugs to feel like that now. It has become a natural response.

yess it is, and translating the dresses and the hair dos it could be now in Portugal, these smiles.....grrrrrrhhh
but why the f...did you insist in smoking once it made you fee bad and outsider, better smoke among their company or in the closet or in the way out!!!!
smoke can create great anxiety, as you know , i am an eventual consumer, for more then 10 year i dont consume, but i believe maybe i will it so good for back aches...!!!!

i can't really explain it, but you've captured *something* perfectly here. this photograph could be a poster for a movie on the 70s. at the risk of offending the good folks in the image, i'm thinking...swingers.
