About I always admired the images that show such nice markets for that mixture of intense colors and that bit of human touch and chaos. This is one shot on the try to produce something similar, but it looks quite raw to me. Any ideas of how to better composition? And would a bigger DoF help? I'd be very glad for any comments.

And I thought that the parts out of focus would be such a disadvantage for that kind of human, chaotic look of the marketplace, Andre! So, it seems they don't affect it too much?

But once again you are completely right. It should be the less sterile, less organized, but more human attitude of that place.

BTW, this is one of the things I really try to understand but I don't get a single bit of it at all. While we all seem to long for such a more human approach of things, at the same time we do our best to strictly organize, to classify, to pur everything into some kind of rigidity. Everybody I meet can sing a nice song about that human attitude and at the same time use the PIM for taking notes about everything, including when freinds meet, and when to do this and that. And I don't exclude myself at all from all that. Perhaps we've taken it too far?

Cheers and thanks a lot for the very encouraging comment!

And perhaps too shallow DoF too, Claudia. Still thanks a lot!

Thanks for both comments, Hussam! Well, not as "outstanding", I guess.

Cheers!

I like this one exactly as it is Nick!
I think you achieved what you wanted. You have that slight human, chaotic, market-place look to the image. The colours are very rich and add to a mouth watering scene.
Good job on this one Nick!

Now that would be an interesting alernative, Avi, to add more of the market itself instead of focusing so much on the fruits! I think that today I would chosse a less close look indeed!

But as it is now, it definitely needed more DoF, and so I am glad that we all seem to converge regarding this point!

Oh, as about the grapes, I comitted the sin to go to Florence in early sopring instead of autumn which we all know that it is the right time! But thanks heavens the wine was not less either! ;-)

Cheers!

So I guess to, Dave! The lack of focus on the foreground is a big weakness here. Not as excellent, that is! Thanks a lot for the nice comment, and even more for pointing that out!

Cheers!

I think for fruits shots, we need artificial lights. If not available, we have to do a more selective focus (hence, use of DOF - yes !) on a more zoomed in scene.

However, if your intention is to show the market ambience, then this is fine - just add a couple of buyers and sellers..

(BTW, where are the GRAPES ?????)

Excellent capture of the fruit market, Nick! Great colour, and I think a little more dof to get the foreground in focus would help make it that much better.
