About I have a little doubt about the composition in this shot. I think having some object on the left side would contribute in balancing the composition.
Otherwise, i am very happy with the tones, and atmosphere.

thanks for viewing,
v.

it usually happens dear Visar, as in our effort to capture a certain moment, a certain place we might miss a detail which if there should have made our composition more complete.
anyway I think this is a nice capture of this old architecture and the human presence adds so much to the atmosphere...
all the best
Marian

I see no problem with the composition, its a good perspective of the street and the people are in the right place, no overlapping.. looks very neat and clean, not much people out, maybe its a holiday or cold. This is a beautiful street with uniform structures in the background.
great shot!
regards..

I am glad that you like it, Visar! You are always welcome!

And clearly! A single small detail can indeed make it look great or destroy it completely! I have noticed that on so many images I shot, that it made me think very seriously about composition as such. It's a very essential part of it, really!

Cheers!

voila :) - just how i wanted.
now i think of this shot (your worked version) as a great example to illustrate how a minor detail can make such a great difference in composition. ;)
thanks, thanks a lot for this work Nick,

Visar, just as a visual experiment about "what/how it could have been." What about this?

Cheers!

Nick

P.S.: Seems you are absolutely right considering composition here.

Added a protruding roof/house on the left

Visar, I thought that the composition was just about fine(st) in conjunction with that good timing and special hues! Really, no arranged smile of the people would fit better, and the left side is just enhancing the direction of the depth as you present it to the spectator. Or so I thought. I had the impression that the light intensity was too much for that.

Then I dared reduce the light in PS for seeing what that causes. (Attachment). And so I see that you must be right. The reduced light put only some additional enhancement of the shadows on the image, but that was it. And it also destroyed the atmosphere.

So it's indeed a good photographic problem to think about. Some object on the left, you say... Perhaps on the top left? Some protruding roof? But it shouldn't interrupt the series of facades on the right side of the road, or am I too eager to have them all visible on the image? I work it out and let you know!

Thanks a lot for the problem! You know, solving already existing problems is good, but posing new ones is even better!!!

Cheers!

Nick

Reduced light - but no real bettering, I guess So Visar's conjecture remains.

I still have a few doubts about it Gustavo, though i have to get used and live with it- as Zagreb is a bit far from me now for retrying it.

thanks,
v.

ah, well, Burim. I do not get critiques much to often, sinceare ones at least but rather 'ah, great- love the tones, love the composition, love this and love that--- or this or that.
so, i do not feel like doing the same. But, I am around and i will be back at your shots.

cheers man,
v.
