I also think it is a scratch. But I have never cleaned my sensor before. I have looked at my sensor closely by holding it against light. I could not see any scratch. But you are right. I have to give it a professional for checking. Thanks a lot Txules for all your time. I could not beleive you took the time to look for equipments on the web for me. I really appreciate it.

ooops, I thought it was just a problem in one picture, it seems you sratched the sensor (have you cleaned yourself the sensor many times and how?), well I'd try first a close inspection of the sensor, Delkin has a good sensorcope but it's expensive (http://www.delkin.com/products/sensorscope/sensoronly.html). Perhaps you could check it for free in a photo laboratory
the good news, if there is any, you may have only scratched the IR filter, not the CCD itself. If so, replacement should be very do-able. I've checked the net an the price is about 100-200 $ (for Canons), not sure if it's worth but depends on your budget).
good luck and be well.....txules

Thanks a lot for your response Txules. I tried shooting in Raw but the problem is still there. I have tried different memory cards also. I might have to send it to the manufacturer. But I am afraid they will charge a huge sum of money.

Buena composición. Excelente el nivel de detalle y la luz ambiental. No es fácil obtener la temperatura de la luz que has obtenido...

Hi Ananda, I'll give you my opinion but try with a real expert in digital photo: I think this is an artifact due to an error during processing the jpg image in camera or during writing in the card; the good news is that the sensor must be OK and of course this is not dust at all; If you have just one image with this line scratch, do not worry and that's all; if you have several images shot the same picture twice in RAW and JPG and compare; RAW is almost unprocessed so should give you a clean image
I notice yo took this picture in jpg-normal, try a better quality or even better, the RAW format; buy a new card just in case (or format an old one, erasing the card is not enough, you should format it when is full to avoid overwriting)
hope this can help you
be well....txules

Hi Txules. I got your contact from Avi who is a good friend of mine. I wanted your help regarding a suspected camera problem. Please look into this image. http://www.usefilm.com/Image.asp?ID=1422586 . You will see a white line across the image at the bottom. I asked Avi regarding this and he suggested your name to me since you are an expert. Do you think this might be a sensor problem or do you think it is caused due to dust particles? Thanks a lot for your patience. You can email me at aniyogi_2000@yahoo.com. I will wait for your response.

yes Gary, you have got it, same feeling in every small town around the world at dusk perhaps something related to the decline of the
empires ?
thanks for the comment....txules

I don't know why this has an American small town feel to it, a bit David Lynch. Might be the strong colours and foreboding atmosphere.
Regards, Gary
