Every spring, the Snow Geese gather on the floodplains of The Nation River near Fournier, Ontario to refuel for the migration north to their breeding grounds. This years flock was estimated at 30-50K. The sound made by the wings of this large flock of honking geese at take-off is like a freight train passing by.
Great job Todd - reminds me of early mornings in a goose pit listening to the escalating roar in the distance as the flocks prepare to leave the water in the predawn hours, and then finally they are airborne by the tens of thousands. The sound is unforgettable, let alone the sight. Thanks for the memories! Kerry
