Comparing it with "forest" it's sort of black on black isn't it with that tree disappearing into the grass and foreground blob breaking up the band of light at the bottom. That forground frond is intriguing breaks up the strokes of grass and continues the tree stump nicely.

God yeah lovely black print this'll be. Man that grey card that rules the photography planet is such a restraint.

Alright mate. You got me with this one. Great noir image that has a ghost like quality that I love. I think you should have to get off your ass and think when looking at a photograph and this one makes you do just that. Well done mate.

Another beautifully mysterious image with a painterly quality. Lovely atmosphere, tones, and details.

Hi Tony no in fact it was shot the other day 20080604 ... late afternoon and threatening rain.. this shot is straight out of the camera 1/50th @ f5.6 on 300mm on the lens.. just poking it into the forest up the back of my place.. invoking future disasters well I dont know.. I do know I wont be around to see the real consequences of my generations folly

Great atmosphere you've created here. Was this shot during one of those huge bush fires last summer or is it a vision of future global warming disasters? .....Tony
