The Funen Village is an open-air museum that presents a Funen Village milieu as it could have appeared in the time of Hans Christian Andersen. The museum includes some thirty buildings dating from the 17th to the 19th century, all of which were moved to The Funen Village from various sites in the Funen region. A village milieu has been created here comprising half-timbered houses, flower gardens, fenced enclosures, livestock and animals, a village pond and a village street – all surrounded by cultivated fields.
