About	Groovy baby!! well you're either gonna luv it or hate it. I love colour so you can imagine my delight at finding this wonderful beach hut among a row of other equally jolly painted examples. I wanted it to look as incongruous and childlike as possible so I photographed it two dimensionally, head on, just like you would find in a nursery book or a childs drawing of a house and then made sure the backdrop was as unspectacular and bland as possible. Any shadows would have complicated the picture adding unwanted 3 dimensionality so I waited for the sun to go in and the shadows to soften. The hut is deliberately placed as symmetrically in the frame as possible to further enhance the childlike appearance. Pentax 67II, 90 -180 zoom, polariser, f/11 at 1/30 sec. Velvia. NEW!! I'm increasingly liking black and white but there's some images that just have to be in colour and this is definitely one of them. I can't help but think of the 60s when I see this. I like the way the shack appears to be perched alone on a headland and your straightforward composition really does suit it's psychedelic nature.
