About Searching for the « lucky » man ?
In 2007 I attended just one wedding (which was not my own :-) So it was indeed something like a fairytale. Many photographers experience a wedding just as work as it is making their living, as some women sometimes do as well :-) Never get used to weddings because it should be a special day every time.

But what happened all before at this magnificent place where today these weddings take place ?
The Muiderslot castle, situated in the town of Muiden in The Netherlands was built in 1280 by count Floris V. His objective was to take control of the trade route to Utrecht. From then on all traders using this trade route were forced to pay tolls at the Muiderslot castle.
In 1672 the French invaded the country. Today many Dutch do the same : occupying France during their annual holidays or even settling down like myself.
In 1795, when the Batavian Republic was established, all government employees lost their job, including the keeper of the Muiderslot castle (no wedding photographers concerned :-). The castle is then transformed to a state prison, and later also used as barracks, and ammunition depot.

In 2003 the Muiderslot castle celebrated its 125th year as a museum. Marriage does not last as long :-)

Thanks Stan for your appreciation of the capture and its story. It is poetic and bucolic as a wedding needs to be .. for more than 125 year this marriage will last and not look like a dusty museum :-)

Thanks for your compliments and attentive remark Arif. Indeed she also looks for .. as she looks as .. an angry or disappointed "runaway bride". What wrong remark I made to her ? What thoughts she had about the freedom of her post-marriage life ? All guesses but if I would I could show her the pic and ask. Even better let us not ask and continue to use our imagination. Thanks once more to do this.
Cheers Paul

Wolf-Harry. Thanks a lot for your appreciation. You are right, I could not do any step behind to include the top of towers in full. Just behind me were the mothers of all the girls and I did not want to step on their feet or worse : fall into their arms instead :-)

Wonderful story and photo Paul. I would have loved to have the towers included completely but then I can imagine you had concentration problems caused by the girls ;-)
The bride seems a bit down but the again I also focus on the girls. Next time forget the castele and bride, just shoot the girls ;-) hahahahah

Hi Saad, thanks for your critics and comment.
Muiderslot is now a museum for 125 years. Measured in time not any marriage lasted as long. I would not conclude that a museum isn't worth a visit anymore :-)

hi Paul.thank you for the photo with its nice idea and,for the interesting about.
you said:Marriage does not last as long,I agree with you if you mean the mere time , but it is experience, and experiences are not calculated by time.happy marriage to those who have married, and good luck to those who haven't.best regards.
