Well, perhaps it is our taste that lost the ability to recognize the subtleness by more and more oversaturating anything, John.
We live in a world of "more is better", ey? ;-) Everything has to be "spectacular", "explosive", etc, etc.
Cheers!

Thanks a lot for the detailed comment and suggestion, Gustavo!
Indeed, this would have been another good way to capture it, by turning the camera a bit downwards. The partial roofs at the bottom are really not good there. So one could either zoom in a bit more until they get off the way (much like the crop suggested by Andre and David), or go the other way around and get the whole houses on the bottom like you say.
So, I must retry that and see what comes out. Thanks a lot once agaon, and cheers!

point taken Nick, now that I think about it....the strawberries of today taste nothing of the field berries I picked (and ate) as a young tot. -john

Thank you so much for the very very reasonable suggestion, Dave! That's it, I guess! (Attachment.) I already said Andre too that the cluttering in the front was a problem to me too, but I really didn't think of this easy and efficient way to get rid of it!
Many many thanks!!!
Cheers!

Thanks a lot for the nice comment and the suggestion, J!
Additional saturation/boosting/contrast converts a real (and also nice) world to some kind of Disneyland. This is the view of the scene in winter, and I just try to get it in a good fidelity and far away from the quite exaggerating photoshopography methiods.
You know, at the end we demand stronger and stronger a taste that can be only supplied by chemical additives, which completely anesthesize us against the taste of real strawberries, ey? ;-)
Cheers!

Hi Andre!
You are right, for me the foreground is also too cluttered here. The shoreline advantage was not as big for overweighting the overall composition and so I do prefer the other one too. I guess if the two roofs of the houses at the bottom right weren't there, this could be much better.
Cheers!

I like this view, too, Nick! Perhaps you could crop to just above the houses at the bottom, then clone out the street lamp poles. Dave.

A unique and very interesting composition here Nick, I would love to see your color saturation boosted a few clicks, contrast +one click. Your locations are wonderful. Best regards, -john

Hi Nick, Although this one shows more of the shoreline and is still a very good image on it's own merit, I prefer the previous version. I think, the position of the reflection and the less cluttered, better composed foreground make the difference for me. Andre
