Another view of “Futo” Masjid, taken from inside the premises. In Bengali, the meaning of Futo is hole. This very old mosque is in Murshidabad, and known as "futo" masjid, (Mosque with a hole). The then Nabab (king) of Bengal ordered to build a mosque within just one night, and it was built. In the morning, when king was supervising, found a hole, and the mosque was declared not usable. Even after 400 years, the structure is visible without any maintenance, and built in one night. This is situated in a district called Murshidabad in West Bengal, India. Around 200 KM from Calcutta, and roads are not that bad. It is extremely unfortunate that no maintenance has taken place there in the last 300 years! Like this there are many structures in that area. I took the photograph around 6 PM, while coming back. Though I used a tripod and high speed, I am not yet happy with the detail and sharpness. Would like to go there again, and you may join me.
