Well, Andre's adjustment does make the image "pop." The original, as you presented it, is also quite excellent, under the lighting circumstances. The intensity of the leopard's gaze is important to the impact of this photo, and it does look natural. (Of course you did not go so far as to actually feed the leopard one of your children:)) As a new 10D user, I do appreciate being able to look at your experiment with ISO 3200 and an "L" lens. Wow. Now where can I find NeatImage?

Thanks Andrea, I was going for the natural look (as I remember it anyway) but you made a good point. The colors really make it pop, I'll have to work on some adjustments. It seems a little too cyan as you posted it but it proves your point :) Could you tell me what you adjusted?

Thanks Robert. Some people have a real problem with zoo images and I respect their point of view, that is why I mention it here. While it may be easier (and somewhat cheaper ;) to see these animals, it still is very difficult to get a natural looking shot and there are it's own unique set of technical problems associated with it. Thanks for you comment!
