The size of the brush doesnt matter too much but I usually use 300 but use it soft. Danny

Danny thanks so much for the detailed explanation, I really appreciate it. How big of a brush do you use for the color replacement? I am going to give it a try and see what happens. Thanks for the help. Be well, Stan

Stan. To bring back the colour to a subjectin a black and white imageFirst start with a colour image Duplicate the background Ctrl+J on the keyboard. Open up the layers pallet so you can see both layers Convert the top layer to black and white.. Saturation tool Desaturate. Add a layer mask to the background copysecond Icon from tjhe left at the bottom of the layers pallet. with black set on the foregroundin the tool box get a soft brush and carefully paint over on the subject you want to be colour. Danny Brannigan Ps come back to me if in doubt.

Danny, how do you paint it back in? I have only limited experience at this point. Love the results and do not plan to copy, but want to understand more. Thanks Stan
