BTW, I wanted to write to you also the URL of a good site about the T90 but the filtering system of UF seems to consider the URL as a word from the black list. Such a strange thing! :-/

I see what you mean, Stan! A rather good way to go. So, step after step you certainly come closer to what you want to do, or to what image you have in mind before taking the image.
I am more detached from all that expression thing. In the meanwhile I don't know why I should say anything at all with photography, and so I am on the more cooled down side of it. When I shoot I only see and think - some kind of Mr. Spock if you like. ;-) I don't want to say anything at all with the image. But this is just another direction of personal approach. The main part of course remains the same, and this is to go forward and know what we are doing.

Thanks Nick, no I am not just in a passing fancy with my Photo journey. I am commited to doing something that has always been a part of me. I am at the part of my life that I want to extract as much from my inner soul that I can. This is my vehicle for expressing my self in a way that others can relate to and see through my eyes. Hopefully I do not scare them!! He He!! I looked up the manual for the T90 as well for some info on features that I wanted to understand. The internet is such a wealth of info.

I can only second you, Stan, provided it is real passion and not some "preliminary enthusiasm" that soon flies away.
It is much like learning to play some instrument. One has to really excercise and learn, exactly as you do. The mere "excitement" without work is not enough. We see that also so many times, when for example somebody like Eddie Van Halen performs. It looks so cool and so "easy", and most people talk about "feeling" and the like, but he he still exercises like crazy. To get that performance on stage is really something else that to be just enthousiastic about it. So I guess you're doing just the right thing by keeping that kind of wish to know a bit more, to improve, to get a step ahead by examining things a bit closer.

Thanks Nick and to you as well. I try to learn a new feature of the camera every few days. I am a lot less daunted the more familiar I become with it. Passion is the power for any success. The more you want it the more likely you can have it.

Thanks Nick. I am trying to see if I can shoot a balanced image with the view finder to train my eye. It is so hard to get things horizontal and vertical without having to do a crop in PS. The more I concentrate on this the better I get at it.
Sometimes you must just get a quick capture or you miss the moment.. I find with my practice that even those shots are better with the practice of the framing of the camera.

Thanks Nick, I was using a new to me lens and was trying to crop in camera to see how much angle I was covering. It was a 28mm Canon EF film lens that was about 44.8mm on my Rebel. Widest I have. I am still in the process of dialing these things in. Thanks for the comment.

Good sense of texture if the wooden facade and also coloring over the whole image, Stan. The image does its work in brown and blue hues. The composition surely brought some emphasis to the windows, but I wonder if a more "wide-angle-like" image could do better.

Thanks Dave, the wood is over 100 years old on this building. It was all Douglas Fir rough sawn. The weather had really colored it up and brought the knots out. Be well my friend, Stan

Hi Harry, thought it was interesting to capture the two windows with different light on them. This was with the 28mm as well. Thought the detail of the wood was nice and the weathered colors as well.
