About In the early evening of April 4th, 1968, Martin Luther King Jr. Stands at the corner of this 2nd story balcony at the segregated "Negro's Only" Lorraine Motel in Memphis with a few friends. Suddenly, numerous shots are fired from across the street hitting him in the neck. He died a few minutes later.

MLK spent most of his life as a great civil rights leader trying to bring equality, justice, and liberty to America's Black population who were shamefully treated as subhumans in many parts of America. The things that were done were wrong and purely evil - unfortunately many of the guilty racists never were punished - it was a VERY DARK period in American History. Then, slowly, very slowly, things began to change until.......

EXACTLY 40 years later a Black man from the south side of Chicago - by way of Hawaii and Indonesia - is elected to the highest office in the land, The Presidency of the United States of America. Every once in a great while human behavior still amazes me. I think the last time I felt this way was when the Berlin Wall came down. Every once in a great while I'm proud of what America does - It's rare but it happens, this is one of those times.

Barack Obama is probably one of the few men that can clean up this gigantic mess created in the last 8 years and also handle America's other major problems. Hopefully he'll bring the USA back to being respected and liked again by the rest of the world - that would be nice. Congratulations to President Elect Obama, we've come a long long way since 1968.....
