A great perspective my dear Avi looks good in these monochromatic tones but I wonder if colour would not have been better my friend. I love the almost optical illusion you get from the painting. Well done. My very best wishes....Ray

Just my opinion ,Avi, also go back to the same spot try different angles also apertures wide angles lenses are very difficult. For almost 3 years I shoot commercially for realtors management companies...any way power to you... These days it paid for my new 5DII Coming soon :)

Saad Salem Saad Salem   {K:89003} 11/9/2008
thank you Avi for explaining the matter to me,I was unaware of the lens distortion, and this make sens, since the distortion is at both ends of the shot,
so forgive a friend, who just says what he felt honestly,
thanks again,
my regards,
Saad.

Avi  Avi     {K:70138} 11/9/2008
Yes Saad. The painting is an amazing one by the impressionist master, and it is indeed done on a VERY VERY wide (about 40 feet long) which is also concave, as you rightly guessed. The distortions of the human figures and lines of walls, ceiling and floor is due to the use of a wide lens. This photo was taken @18mm.
thanks and regards,
Avi

Avi  Avi     {K:70138} 11/9/2008
thanks.. it's an amazing painting by a master on SUCH a wide and uniquely concave (as Saad pointed out) canvas

Harry, I liked the distortion of the lines and also the humans in this composition.. however if you don't like it, then I will try better ! Always appreciate honest opinion my friend.

Saad Salem Saad Salem   {K:89003} 11/9/2008
this shot is of great perspective, and this feeling of greatness is credited to the wall shot itself, and I am sure it was hanged at the wall in a concave form as it appears from the shot shadows at the wall,
I would call it a great perspective also,if you didn't manipulated its original perspective,as it appears from the disfigured human proportions at the end of the shot, and from the directions of floor tiles, anyway it is a good shot,
my best regards,
Saad.

Avi, you're my friend :) giving you my honest opinion it hurts but I know you do appreciated. Any way this is bad resulting aperture and eye coordination also the crop
Plus the horizontal frame makes it uneasy...personaly wouldn’t post it...but it's up to you any thoughts!?
