What a cute little guy. No matter what anyone says, they are fun to watch, even if they are annoying at times. It sounds like you had a very productive day. I think the wildlife came out so you could show off that new lens. Hope to see some of those shots.

Hello sweety, good to hear you are so happy with this lens, I just bought my Canon and included with 2 lenses, so I am really happy with this! As I know if buying them seperately they are much more expensive! The light here is nog very good at the moment, but I will put a shot later on made by this lens and specially for you:))
Still have to practise a lot, having a Canon eos450D, its so very different from my former one, so much to think about, but that will be fun and I am happy to bring it to Mozambique next month:) Lets see what it will doo, or better what I can do with it! Thanks so much for your great reply, I have the same probs with cash flow for better tripod and macrolens as you have..:)

Hi Jen, thanks so much for your comments and very kind words. Yeah, this is a great lens for the price.... It certainly exceeded my expectations thus far. I wish it did a bit better in low light, but for the price, I have no complaints at all. I did not know you have the same lens. I wish UF added this one into their lens category so that I can search out images made only with this lens. It would be nice to see other's images so I can see it's full capabilities... but I guess I will be finding that out soon enough. It's encouraging to hear that you are happy with it also. This lens does function as a nice macro and I do have a set of Kenko extension tubes which I have not yet tried, but hope to soon (look for images soon). Macro is tricky work when it is really close up work. You almost need a macro ring type light for the images to really look good and I don't have the budget for that at the moment. I need to buy a better tripod before I attempt any more serious macro work.
This was actually a nature preserve, so nothing was in cages which is really nice. I have been to our local zoo however and have an annual membership so I can go as often as I like without paying each time. Its a good place to practice and I plan on going there very soon.
Thanks for the questions and encouragement. I like your images too and all the fun trips you get to go on. I will be visiting your portfolio again soon to catch up.

Its such a cuty and lovely shot my dear, could be in the biology book:) Congrats with the lens, I do have the same on my Canon, very happy with it too! Just need a macro lens still, what about you? You have been very lucky with this 'zoo' really, enjoy your Sunday! ;) :)

I thought about that too but I don't really do much editing to my images... try to keep them "real". But he does look like he's being "speared", doesn't he?
