Ohh I'm so sorry to hear about your aching joints, Jen... but glad you are able to get out and travel some, especially to warmer climates! Yes, you are right, there are worse diseases than that...........ah but wouldn't it be nice to be "youthful" and healthy forever? Ok, so I'm a dreamer! lol.... thank you again for your thoughtfulness. You've got a very sweet and generous heart! Have a good and restful sleep. Until next time.... your friend, Brigitte

I feel so well that you like this my sweety, it was really meant to be a friendship post, I am happy you like fall colours, I do less but thats also because I know winter is coming and my bones are very bad with cold and even more wet weather, thats one reason why I travel a lot too, I need the heat and dry temperature, have some bad arthritis and some replaced joints, needing some more.... But well all better then most deseases, isnt it? I will try some more shots, did try last Sunday on my daughter with horseriding, it was terrible, raining and those moving animals...lolll
I get frustrated what to do, specially with jumping and dark skys, wish you could be here to help me:)))
Be well my dear friend, have great evening,
bedtime here!
Warm hugs, Jenxx

Hello sweety, its good to see you around in between all your classes and work, you must be in a lot of progress now with photography, for me its still struggling with this camera...wish you could show me from nearby:))
And no, I didnt win anything, wish I had! But I bought this camera in a box with 2 lenses together, that made it much cheaper somehow...
But when I was in California I saw that the camera's were much cheaper then in Europe, I still regret that I didnt bring some special lenses for my Olympus, but anyway, happy with my Canon now...and I will learn and practise more:))
How are you doing by now, how long until your holiday is coming? You must needed it terribly I guess...its so quiet without you!! Still waiting for your address as well:))
Enjoy your evening, be well and relaxt!!
Big hugs and kiss, Jenxx

Wow! Thank you for posting this for me, Jen... you are a dearheart and so thoughtful! I love fall colors and am very pleased that you got out just for me to take this lovely shot. I know this lens does not perform well in low light so you did great, even with ISO 400! Just remember, you can take shots in very low light, even in darkness, but keep the camera steady (on tripod) and then you can leave the shutter open for a long, long time! I took my wild turkey picture close to sunset and had to use ISO 1600 (max... and it shows grain) because they were moving. After that shot, I put the lens cap back on and just enjoyed the rest of the evening without taking pics. It can perform well if you know it's strengths and weaknesses. Love the shot, Jen... thanks again! Hugs back to you. -Brigitte

I love buzka's so much my dear, you cant imagine:)) For sure I still have to learn a lot, but also scared I will mess up my shots on my next trip to Moz, that would be terrible for me..
So will bring both camera's, just the carrying I might need you for...loll
I am still so very happy with your sunset shot for me, thank you again my friend,
Many hugs, Jenxx

Many more thanks to you my dear, always happy with helpful comments, still quite insecure with this camera:) I dont need really more lenses, just like to make more detailed shots and working on bees and flowers, but maybe this lens will be good enough as well!
I do have the same here, my Olympus is much better in S macro, might even had made a better shot with this boat included, but well..there's seems no way back anyway, lets see what I wcan make of it in Moz:)
Thanks again, will miss your comments for sure!!!

Thanks for the thumbs up, Jen - I sometimes wonder if I've been too mean after leaving a critique rather than a comment.

I'm not sure about having "too many" lenses, but the amount of equipment does suddenly seem to escalate exponentially. Next, you'll be needing another body so you don't have to change lenses out in the field...

And like you I felt for a long time that I was able to get better shots with my old Minolta. It only really struck me how much of an improvement the D-SLR was when I took the Minolta out again for a trip abroad recently.

Nice you like my fall shot my dear, I really had fun following this little floating boat, with
coloured background, I must say I struggle quite
a lot with my lens and light:)
Have to practise more, thanks so much for your

It was just a joke and promis to Brigitte my dear, of course ant lens would do, but we were just excited to have the same one..loll
I always had very simple, but great camera's and as I said to AJ, many times I miss that one as well, will for sure bring my Olympus next month to Moz. And you are very right about the photographer, I still have to learn a lot....

My great teacher, I am always happy you give your
honest opinion, even better then my teacher from
class about this shot!! So, please go on like this, its the only way to get this right for me..

I do also agree that too many lenses is not the solution to get good shots, thats very true, just as tan says, I feel also disappointed many times that I made better shots with my simple Olympus,
today been practising for 3 hours on horses and struggling like mad!!

About this shot, I made more or less the decision to put the boat here as it wasnt in the way of other reflections from trees, waiting and staring from indeed quite far:) It was floating pretty fast by this controller this guy used, had to hurry:)
I would never ignore you about your opinion, please keep me alert:)) Again, much appreciated!!

Hoping your next trip will be fine too, I am hoping to be in Mozambique in a month, will stay there and around for 6 weeks, hope to see you before leaving!
Be well and take care, hugs Jen

AJ Miller AJ Miller   {K:49168} 11/16/2008
Lens looks pretty good to me! Soon all you will be needing is a truck to carry all the gear around!

Now let's get picky (and no doubt this is highly influenced by the fact that I am shut inside all day trying to get a report finished...) I feel the boat is not dominant enough. My eyes are drawn to the beautiful patch of orange in the background and its reflection in the water, but this area is not sharply in focus. I guess you were using the lens zoomed out and with F5.6 your DOF would be rather shallow. Maybe this would be resolved if the boat was in the patch of orange reflection to the right.

Does this make sense? Just ignore me if you think this is rubbish!

AJ
