About This beetle is a weevil (Otiorhyncus) and correctly named wee-evil. They live in the ground during the day and come out at night and eat the edges of leaves. They really like lilacs and roses. You can poison them but I got a 5 gallon bucket with a little water in it and shook the bushes and collected about 70 every night for a month. Thats over 2,000 bettles that I removed. I didn't get them all but sure put a dent in their population
