Again oh, I see now what you mean, Andre!
Well, isn't that rather the reflection of the light on the block in the foreground that gives it the glossy "finish"? Or... wait, yes, the focus also played a big role. The reflection would be much weaker visible on the image (I think), if the focus was somewhere else.
Thanks once more, Andre. For me it was rather the colored blocks in an otherwise almost monochrome scene, and I didn't really think of any other difference except of "sharp here, soft there". It gives me now an idea for some shots with other objects - I hope I'll be able to get such a difference in "ginish" again. It will be interesting anyway.

Hi Nick,
What I mean is way that the block in the lower left corner has a gloss finish look to it, and the slightly out of focused block further into the image appears to have a soft matt finish.
I will refer to this image in another comment on the Train images.

Thanks a lot for the nice detailed comment, Andre! I am particularly glad if you like it, since this represents just about perfectly my own attitude in photography - if I can call it my "own" at all of course.
Could you please elaborate on the change of color effect with focus? This is quite new to me for this image and so I am curious to know what you mean with that.

Hi Nick,
Yes! This one does attract in the thumbnail, and looks great when opened. It is very interesting how much the focus changes the effect on the colours.
