I think I have seen this on other website too. I think its very cool! As a matter of fact I was thinking about such a photo this afternoon. But in a more candid way though. The make up and light around her finger is really cool. I think the balance in the composition is because of the lines created by the light. first you have dark, then light, dark light dark. And also this jumps a level down where the arm is. If you see what I mean :-D

Marty, I used one softbox and placed it on the side of the girl. Made sure I have a triangle on her right cheek and a little catchlight in her eye.
