This is lovely Diana, the double portrait is a nice idea as it tells a story. The pictures are both good in their own way, if I had to choose one though it would be the one on the left. I would be inclined to do some tweaking with PS, and put the bg out of focus a bit and maybe clone out the broom, but other than that they are wonderful, best regards - Richard.

I keep a photo journal of my child. Daily photos with my cheapy digital cam and I find myself often doing strips because it is just the right thing to do. I send them to the grandparents and greats...
I love this photo because it is exactly the kind of thing most kids do yet it always so amazing and so cute when we see it that we think it is a miracle. And maybe we think it is a miracle because it is....
