It is high, very high contrast indeed, Jacques, but still the light-shadow transitions on her face (right half) are well painted enough to allow the spectator to perceive the relief and the plasticity of it. The image has much of low-key and much of high-key character. The left part of her face resembles a high-key so strongly and the tension against the hair in a low-key appearance is great! Still the eyes remained in all their details on the portrait, which makes them gain additional importance.
Good timing and lighting too - what was your light source? And BTW, any chances to attach the original if you have it?
Anyway, a re-work that generated something special!
