Mark I just saw this photo in Shutterbug, congrats! I turned the page, looked at it and thought, I know that photo, and was pleased to see your name on it. It remains one of my favorites of yours because of it's mystical calmness. It reminds me of the island associated with King Arthur, Avalon I believe. What a mood it conveys and the colors are glorious.

I admire anyone who can get up early in the morning to capture the light like this. I have to get up and go to work but don't really wake up until around 10 or so. I like the unusual cropping, putting the bank of trees closer to the top. The bird is what makes this unique, a really nice point of interest. The colors are a draw, too, soft peach tones with a bit of navy blue in the water, some dark green in the trees. So many little nuances to draw you in.

Great photo with surrealistic flare. Too bad the duck wasn't on a lighter area of the photo. They're so hard to direct. I like the soft orange glow too.
