I suppose what I meant was my overall impression of this image was not one of technical failure at all; the blown-out highlights were not something that took my notice, and I think what sandip is communicating here over-rides technical issues.
Just my take Saad. I agree that you are entitled to point out technical "defects" of course; here they are subtle and, to me, unobjectionable.
Anthony, it is neither my monitor nor yours is the judge for the blown highlights, I am not underestimate the beauty of this shot, it is so beautiful, and of a very fine subject as well, all what I have said it is a technical failure . And my congratulation to Sandip as well, before I write my feedback,I have checked the blown highlights by PS,and it gave me values above of 250 for the sleeve of her right arm,in front of her chest, over her left and right knees, and the whole of her right sided hair so it is not a minor details,in fact it is about 50% of the shot ,if we consider that 40%of the whole shot is a black frame, and you could very simply check that. Simply ,I am just trying to tell you I am not nitpicking minor details, with my respect to both of you,Anthony and Sandip.
In my monitor, at least, I see few blown bits that might even remotely detract from the overall beauty of this wonderful study. It would be churlish even to nitpick minor details when looking at this work in its very clear and exemplary nature.
very unfortunately this shot does not Deserve the award, technically, it is with blown highlights over most the woman's clothes, and even her hair, most of it I could say,I do agree it is a beautiful subject, but the award is given to the photo, not to the subject. my best regards, Saad.
