About you don't have the choice to swim in the cenote. You have to jump from 5 feet high minimum... to another place about 20ft high... but the cool water was so nice. great feeling to have fresh water after a week swiming in the salted sea ;)

I was the only of my family to swim... and really has no regret :))

Hi, I had the lucky occasion to take a swim in a cenote in Mexico and it was one of the most cool experience in my life: extra clean water, coloured fishes and the forest for surround... what a wonderful moment! :)

Hmmm... and does that change a single bit on the appearance of the image, Jacques?

I definitely got too tired with all that "yes, but I was doing this and that". Did you notice the disadvantages of the image? Are they there or not? Only about that I am talking. Not about the usual explanations, Jacques. Not to say that the image is not good, not at all, but photography can't be subject to "yes but I was doing this and that". In other words, writing a B in exams won't turn it to an A even by mentioning that the dogs were yelling to loud in the night and so learning was not as good as it should be. ;-)

Cheers!

Nick

just as I said to Aykaan, I was explaining my wife how to get the flash popping out to take the picture while she is in manual mode... didn't think to put it on automatic before jumping in the water... after few minutes of swimming whitout any break I start to want coming out of the water...

thanks a lot Nick.

The textures in the water are very very authentic and original, Jacques! As exact and well esposed as it takes, in order to convery the look and feel of the element. The additional "extraordinary" face expression of the man does also introduce interest, as he seems rather "alive" and very aware of the fact that he is photographed. The food details on his face allow the special moment to evolve very strong and magnetizing, as his look seems to meet the look of the spectator so directly.

The composition did keep some of the perspective as the surface of the water is depicted by the textures of reflections and refractions on the wavelets. But it also appears rather "usual", with no real "extras". I would say, a very good exposure balance on a rather quick and easy composition. Such a place could take much more care in the composing sense and so I see a very good snap in it without considering too much about the place and hoe it will appear on the image.

Cheers!

Nick

Sounds like a really adventurous swim my friend, the place looks quite unique in your earlier postings. Well done you for taking the plunge my dear Jacques. My very best wishes to you as always......Ray
