I like the shot but for me the bird IS a little too high in the frame. My eye would prefer it lower down so it is in among the reflections rather than almost floating above them. I'm not exactly sure where, and I'm sure there are some logistical issues that limit where you can shoot from (and where the bird happens to be standing). What about a vertical shot? Bird near the top might work better that way. And what about just the reflections with no bird? Lots of possibilities at this place! Just my 2c worth.

You have managed the lighting, tones and contrast so well. Composition is great and the reflections add interest. Lovely image. Regards Victoria

I think its right where it is unless you were going to do a massive crop. I think you need the tree reflections to make the abstract. And to have the birdie down any lower would bring in to much darkness and make it boring. Well done Ann. 10/10 Cheers. Keith:) :)

Looks like a heron sitting on an abstrct or impressionist painting, I suppose if s/he was situated a little lower down it would work better but it works for me as is Regards, Gary

I am NOT an expert my dear Ann but I think the positioning looks great and the balance perfect. The heron is facing that one part of the water without strong reflections and that, to my mind, makes it right. I love the gently rippling reflections and the perfect stillness of the bird. Well done to you sweetie. A great big HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUG and my best wishes, always......Ray
