A long time since I visited your portofolio, Erland, and both your special signature as also your sense for artistic expression without kitschy attitudes are even stronger than they were when I saw your images the last time. There is something very serious, careful and thoughtfully tasteful in your images. Like here for example. Absolutely on the good balance between too much and too little. The image evolves like a mixture of photorealism and impressionism in front of my eyes.
There are good details and contours but also some element of a drawing on them - but just the right dosis. The composition is well balanced and matches so well the emphasis on the highlights of the pavement. Perhaps that piece of the red wall could be missing as well, but we are already in the realms of personal taste by that. The vivid colors, especiall the contrast of the almost complementary colors of the facades and the background sky add a strong note of personal interpretation which again fits very well the overall view and character of the image. It is reality but it is a presentation of reality that really carries a very presonal signature.
Very very distinctive. It should definitely get an award here in UF!
