If it happens under a conscious mind, then it is indeed good, Andre!

Thanks a lot for the good comment and the suggestions, Andre! I will be surely trying some more "classical" settings anyway. I only have to get a good sunny day on some weekend and go there again. I think that I will also try some additional shots for high key too. So it will be trying the space between such setting as you suggest and what I did here. I am sure that the classic look would be very nice on such a subject but I am curious to see how it behaves in the high key range.
Cheers!

Hi Nick, When you examine the image closely, it is not as far away from being acceptable as you might first think. I know the intention is high key. I also know you are aware that a couple of f stop or shutterspeed changes would give you a beautifully exposed image with all the detail and texture you could ask for. I bet 1/250 @ f8 would do fine. As would 1/125 @ f11. Maybe not high key, but nice texture and exposure. Andre

Thanks a lot Nanda!
It really seems that the overexposure was too much for my intended high key image. As I said to Visar, I'll have to try some more of this kind.
Cheers!

Thanks a lot Visar!
I am thinking about a less strong overexposure now, since this one seems to have been really too much. A high key image of that entry is what still sits in my mind, but I am not really sue about its translation to real settings on the camera. So, only conscious experimenting can help.
I'll keep on trying now and then and let's see what comes out of it.
Cheers!

Thanks a lot for the comment, Gokhan!
With "timing" I think you mean the shutter speed? Or do you mean the time of the day?
Anyway, the light would allow a more balanced exposure. It was that I tried a high key image which turned it this way. I must retry it and see if less overexposure can bring a better result in high key.
Cheers!

Hi Nick,
I think the interesting relief of the arched stoned facade, its deep dark engravings to the naked eye, saved your photograph. it is true that the exponation was too long to save the superficial behaviour of the facade, but i find it a really nice idea having this try of yours which worked well in the minor decorative details on top columns and arch.
cheers, v.

Good position and architectural detail, but wrong timing I guess, light very hard.
